A dedicated and hardworking rider, Gerco Shröder’s motto is to ‘stay motivated, and always keep trying’. He cites winning the European Championships with his team in Aachen in 2006 as one of his most momentous career moments, but he hasn’t stopped there. In 2007 Gerco went on to become European Champion in Mannheim, in 2008 his team came in 4th at the Olympic Games in Hong Kong and in 2011 he won the CSI 5* Grand Prix at Rio de Janeiro. He cites Berlin, Eurocommerce Monaco, Milano VI, Eurocommerce New Orleans, Eurocommerce London and California as the best horses of his career and says his parents have been his biggest influence.

2012 is already proving to be a good year for Gerco, with 2nd place position at the CS1 4* Grand Prix in Amsterdam and 5th place at the CSI 5* Grand Prix at Grand Palais in Paris on his profile. He describes Global Champions Tour as simply ‘super’.

Gerco finished 6th overall on the 2012 season rankings after a second place finish in our final Grand Prix event in Abu Dhabi in November 2012. The Dutchman, who now not only holds an Olympic team Silver medal but an Individual Olympic silver medal as well, sets to be a strong force on the Longines Global Champions Tour this year with his top-ranking Belgian-bred stallion London.
