Steve has been fascinated by horses since he started riding as a child and had his first trainer at nine years old. He quickly achieved competition success and made the Swiss juniors team. His father Philippe was an international show jumper and has been a big influence on his career. Steve says hard work is as crucial as talent when it comes to success. In a major career high he won individual gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London aged 30 on Nino des Buissonnets and came 4th in the team competition. Earlier in 2012 he came second in the World Cup Final in Hertogenbosch. Among other achievements Steve won a team bronze medal at the Beijing Games in 2008 on Jalisca Solier. One of Steve’s hobbies is tennis and his hero is fellow countryman Roger Federer.
