The 2012 Global Champions Tour leg in Spain continues this year in the new and modern equestrian facilities at the Oliva Nova Beach and Golf Resort. Set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea, the competition will be celebrated from May 4th to 6th.
The equestrian facilities are situated beside the 14th Hole of the golf course designed by the late Seve Ballesteros and are near the resort’s luxury villas and apartments. During February and March the successful new Mediterranean Equestrian Tour is hosted here.
The world’s top riders will be competing in the first European event of the GCT 2012 calendar with fantastic prize money and important ranking points to be won. As well as the excitement of world class sport and the picturesque scenery with wild sand dunes along the shore, the resort also has excellent spa facilities, swimming pools, tennis courts, trekking and, of course, golf.
Billy Twomey, last year’s winner of the Grand Prix of Spain, said after competing in Oliva: “The facilities are wonderful. The ground is fantastic and also the stables. And the hotel is very close.”
At the foot of the Santa Ana hills, among olive, mulberry and orange groves, lies the new venue of the Grand Prix of Spain, separated from the sea by a long beach of the finest sand, surrounded by natural dunes.
